Providing a memorable dining experience
At the heart of our hotel you will find the Lakeside restaurant. Our restaurant team will make your dining an experience to remember.
The restaurant boasts a superb view across the private parkland of the Hotel.
The menus change frequently, in keeping with the seasons. From light Summer dishes to robust meat and game offerings throughout the Autumn and Winter months. The cuisine represents the best of modern international cooking with a fresh approach making the most of wonderful local produce.
Fixed price menus (from £32.50) as well as the “a la carte” menu are available at all times.
The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Our Sunday Lunch is a favourite in the area and different menus are often offered at those special times of the year like Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Valentine’s evening.

Our first time at Branston Hall, but definitely not our last. We were hoping for a quiet and secluded stay, and that’s exactly what we got. Lovely approach to the hotel and the building itself is gorgeous. We were swapped from a courtyard room to the main hotel, without our having to ask, as their was a wedding on, and they were staying in the courtyard apartments, which was great. The woman at reception was very friendly, and our room was lovely – very nicely decorated, clean, big enough, with all of the facilities we would hope for, and a pleasant place to stay. We ate dinner in the restaurant, and the food was faultless – devilled smoked mackerel with rhubarb etc. starter for me, and the salt beef for my wife, followed by lamb and chicken. Very nice dishes, with a great balance of flavours – definitely compliments to the chef. The waitresses were really lovely – very professional, but also prepared to loosen up a bit and have a laugh if it became clear that the customer wasn’t into the stuffiness that can sometimes be present in such restaurants. Wine was good, although I am about as far from being an expert in this as it’s possible to get. Breakfast was very good – we are quite happy with the ‘self-service’ arrangement used (as is used in many similar hotels), although I accept it might not suit everyone. The only problem we had was with a couple of slightly pompous guests in the (two-deep) cereal queue who clearly felt that having to wait for anything was nothing less than a personal affront, but hey-ho. We also had a treatment at the Simpsons Spa, which was great. We didn’t use the pool or similar facilities at the hotel, so cannot comment on these.
All-told, we had a really great time, enjoyed 24 hours of sanctuary and will definitely be returning in the near future. We are fairly regular hotel patrons and have no problem with bringing to the notice of the staff or management of a hotel any problems that arise. However, we had no need to at Branston Hall.
Visited here for a large lunch party, it was my first visit but will definitely return.
A beautiful, old-fashioned building evoking memories of bygone days. Service matched this exactly! The young waiters and waitresses were pleasant, polite and tried their best to fulfil all requirements. Can’t praise them enough.
The food? Wonderful! Excellent produce cooked to perfection and perfectly presented.
I certainly want to return and stay next time to experience the full package.

As an ex chef, who has worked in 3AA Rosette restaurants for 6 years, it was too much of hard work. I can safely say that the dinner my wife and I enjoyed at the Lakeside restaurant in Branston Hall was – perfection. I was surprised that it only has the 2 AA Rosettes. I have eaten in many well known restaurants around the US and Europe and this is about as good as it gets. If you get a kick out of clever, well executed and flavoursome cooking then this is the place to go.
