We follow the trail of 17th century Dutch traders as they sailed from the cape of good hope to Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Myanmar and Southern India. We show how the peasant workers press ganged to South Africa to work in Cape Town and the Winelands, and went on to shape the diverse cuisine of the Cape Malays.
