Local events in the Lincoln area in November 2015

2015 is set to be a big year for Lincoln starting with the reopening of Lincoln Castle in April following a £22 million development. After four years of renovation, the Castle’s dramatic restoration will see the landmark open in time for the Anniversary of the sealing of the famous charter, the Magna Carta. 2015 is Magna Carta’s 800th anniversary since it’s signing and Lincoln will be celebrating, with its own original copy of the charter, throughout the year.

1st November – Lincolnshire Road Transport Museum Open Day & Bus Tour – 10am to 5pm – Over 60 Historic buses, cars, vans, lorries, fire appliances and motorcycles. As well as memorabilia, photographs, signs, badges, models and even a workshop.

5th November – Fete on the Strait – The Strait (10am-4pm)

5th – 8th November – Winter Craft and Handmade Fair – Lincoln City Square – 9am to 4pm Just a few metres from Lincoln’s busy High Street, the City Square Farmers’ Market is the perfect way to add a delicious taste of Lincolnshire to your weekend.

6th November – Farmers Market – Castle Square – 9am to 4pm – Nestled between Lincoln’s breath-taking Cathedral and Castle, the Castle Hill Farmers’ Market is a truly unique experience that really has something for everyone.

7th November – Fete on the Strait – 10am to 4pm – The Strait, at the top of Lincoln’s High Street, will be full with stalls, arts and crafts, local produce and activities including face painting for kids.

7th November – Artists Market (Castle Square 10:00-16:30) Nestled between the City’s beautiful Cathedral and Castle, the Artists’ Market offers visitors the chance to view and buy a variety of beautiful, hand-crafted, and unique pieces of artwork and crafts.

9th – 10th November – Miracle on 34th Street – 7.30pm to 9.00pm – Lincoln Theatre Royal – One of the most popular films of all time and is coming to the stage in this dazzling new musical.

11th November – Farmers Market – High Street – 9am to 4pm – This conveniently located market sits at the bottom of Lincoln’s Steep Hill, amongst the city’s buzzing High Street.

14th November – Craft Market – Lincoln Cornhill – 9am to 4pm – Bespoke, and beautifully hand-crafted ornaments, jewellery and pottery that is available to peruse and purchase at this intimate market, all at reasonable prices.

16th November – The Nutcracker – Lincoln Theatre Royal – 7.30pm to 9.30pm – Celebrate the Christmas season with loved ones and enjoy a performance from The Nutcracker.

24th November – Light Up a Life’ Candlelight Parade – 6.15pm to 9.00pm – Lincoln Cathedral – Join St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice to celebrate, remember and reflect during the festive season.

26th November – Tree of Lights – 2.30pm to 7.30pm – St Marks Shopping Centre – Join Macmillan and celebrate the lives of loved ones lost this Christmas at the Macmillan Tree of Lights

26th November – Reindeer Display – 2.30pm to 4.00pm – St Marks Shopping Centre – Before the evening’s parade, festive reindeer will be relaxing at St Marks Shopping Centre – ideal for some Christmas photo opportunities.

26th November – Reindeer Parade – 6.00pm to 8.00pm – A parade of festive reindeer led by Santa and his sleigh from the Cathedral Quarter, through Lincoln city centre and to rest at Lincoln Cornhill.

28th – 29th November – Lincolnshire Food & Gift Fair – 10am to 4pm – Lincolnshire Showground – A mix of delicious local produce, gift stalls and workshops make the Food and Gift fair at the Lincolnshire Showground the best way to kick start your Christmas preparations.

28th November – 3rd December – Lincoln Ice Rink – 10am to 9pm – City Square – Get your skates on at Lincoln’s outdoor, city centre ice rink for a truly festive experience.
